Very competent and excellent surgeon. Anyone who puts himself in his hands will be satisfied. My surgery was almost painless and healed very quickly. A very calm and always good-humored doctor. I would absolutely let him operate on me again.

A very kind doctor who has a lot of understanding for his patients’ problems. He strives to find solutions in a timely manner, and you don’t have to prove anything to him – he simply listens to you. That truly matters!!! The video consultations are a particularly good solution. I can only recommend this doctor. Thumbs up!!!!!

The only doctor with brain and heart in Grosshadern! Even when it comes to complex and undiagnosed diseases, he helps wherever he can, even if it’s far beyond his immediate field of expertise. He is a great surgeon AND, above all, a doctor with a heart. He listens to the person and not just to the Ct images and lab values. He also makes quick, goal-oriented decisions. Sometimes we need not only a doctor, but also a person who understands your suffering and does his best to help. A super surgeon with a lot of experience and competence. You know you’re in good hands with him. Dr. Karcz is very friendly, mindful and understanding and tries to help everyone as much as he can. He has left a beautiful trace in my life. I just say: thank you doctor.

Prof. Karcz performed a gastric bypass surgery on me. I have never met a doctor like Prof. Karcz and I am happy for all Munich patients as they have such a great doctor. I am very sad that he is leaving Lübeck, but am very glad to be lucky enough to have been operated on and looked after by him. This Doc is excellent!!! I will be grateful forever and for always to Prof. Karcz, as he made my life worth living again. I got a stomach tube, because I could not lose weight using conventional methods. He explained to me in great detail the surgical methods and possible alternatives. I am very happy to have met him. I am now down from Bmi 40 to a 26. I no longer have high blood pressure and diabetes 2, I was able to get a new hip joint due to the weight loss and live pain-free without medication. Dr. Karcz is a very competent doctor with a lot of experience. He gives good advice and detailed explanation of operations and possible complications. He truly cares about his patients. I was very satisfied with Dr. Karcz. It is a pity he is does not work in Freiburg anymore.

I never wanted to have surgery because I never ate much; nonetheless, I kept gaining weight. Dr. Karcz has explained everything to me in a very plausible way and answered every question. Unfortunately, my stomach was messed up by an incorrectly executed sleeve. Sachsenhausen did not dare to correct it. Having performed operations which were far from easy, Professor Dr. Karcz sorted things out.

Dr. Karcz is always friendly, always lets you finish your story and patiently answers each of your questions. He has now operated on me three times and each operation resulted in my complete satisfaction. I would definitely return under his care, he has my complete trust.

Prof. Dr. Karcz is an outstandingly competent doctor in every aspect. He guided us with utmost care through the entire process: from the day of the diagnosis of the gastric carcinoma to the gastrectomy and the follow-up treatment. 

Not only his professional qualities are to be emphasized, but also the human-to-human support he offers. I would entrust myself to him again at any time. 

I have only had good experiences with Dr. Karcz. Very good doctor. He operated on me twice. I got a BPD DS in 2009 and have lost 78 kg since. I would definitely let him operate on me again. Unfortunately, as has already been mentioned here, he is no longer at the University Hospital Freiburg, which is truly a pity. I also hardly got to see him at follow-up appointments because he had too much on his plate. I recommend Dr. Karcz 100%. I THANK him for all he has done for me.

Dr. Karcz has already operated on me laparoscopically twice due to an intestinal obstruction. His warm and friendly manner, his willingness to listen and to help immediately are remarkable. I rarely felt I was in such good hands as with this doctor. He is given my complete trust. He has saved my life twice now, and I would turn to him again if necessary. I already had a good feeling at the first consultation and was very well advised. I then decided to continue to the treatment and operation by Dr. Karcz. Everything was explained to me in an understandable and clear manner, and all my questions were answered. I was and continue to be very satisfied with the result. If I were to have any further treatment, it would only be with him, and I would also consult him should I have any questions. My surgery took place in November 2010, and I lost 72 kg within the next 18 months; I maintain my weight to this day. My confidence was never shaken, and even now I am very grateful to him for everything.

Dr. Karcz is a great doctor. He always took time to listen to my needs. He performed a successful revision surgery on me, for which I am very grateful. He was the 1st doctor I felt safe with. Thanks to him, I was also not afraid of the surgery; in fact, I have now had a few surgeries. In addition, he is a very kind and friendly doctor. Unfortunately, not all doctors are so humane. I am happy to accept that I sometimes had to wait a little longer for appointments. This is often a problem of the administration, and in other clinics you often have to wait even a longer time. In any case, competence is what’s most important to me! And he only operates on what is really necessary. He does not have the dollar signs in his eyes.

I was very well advised by Dr. Karcz. The surgery went smoothly. I did not regret my decision, not even for a moment. I am still doing well, and it’s nearly 6 years after the operation.

Very good surgeon. Unfortunately, he is so much in demand that most of the time you do not get to see him for the follow-up treatment, as was the case in Freiburg. Nevertheless, he always tried to answer questions by mail and help.
